“Who Kicked the Corner Flag” premiered on Tuesday Oct 3rd, 2017 and has since recorded a number of weekly episodes. It takes a look at the past week’s games in the English Premier League and the quiz-based format allows podcast listeners to play along.
Resident contestants Jared and Boyce are invited to guess the week’s “Top Four” most-discussed stories and offer their own thoughts, while “Who Said That?” shows who paid most attention to the post-match interviews! Other games include “Player Profile“, where contestants have to identify a player from 5 clues and “Rumour Mill“, a true or false contest with quotes from the British Press.
We are pleased to report the listener numbers across the USA and other countries to grow and hope you will pass on our podcast address to anyone you feel may be interested.
See below for more information on our pundits!
James Rose – Host/Producer
James was born in Hertfordshire, England and moved to the U.S in 2013. Currently, he works as a Personal Trainer at Onelife Fitness in downtown Kansas City and is certified in Weight Loss Specialization and Corrective Exercise Programming (NASM). While James has previously worked on a number of voiceover projects in the past, this is his debut as a Podcast Host. He is proud to be a Tottenham Hotspur fan.
Jared Bustamante – Featured Contestant
Jared is a KC-born military-brat journeyman. After his high school and college club soccer playing days in Virginia, Jared moved back to Kansas City to practice law. A local government attorney, Jared has been a Spurs fan since Arsene Wenger’s cardigans were actually in style. He and his wife, Jessie, run the KC Spurs Supporters Group.
Boyce Richardson – Featured Contestant
Boyce is entering his eleventh year as an Arsenal fan and his eighth as the Arsenal America Branch Manager for the KC Gooners. His nascent EPL soccer fandom was kindled during Rosicky’s “scorcher” against the USA in the group stages of the 2006 World Cup, but also traces back to Douglas Adam’s Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy’s reference to the “foregone conclusion” of “Arsenal being without a chance.” Although he has been sustained by the likes of Fabregas, Wilshere, Cazorla, Özil, and Alexis (RvP RIP), these days, he enjoys perpetual daydreams of a future without Stan Kroenke. Fun fact, Olivier Giroud once recorded a congratulatory message for his 2016 nuptials, urging him to “celebrate properly.” #KCisRed
